Quote for the day

I just got back from the Michigan State Auctioneers Association convention. My mind is still swimming with all the new ideas I picked up. I am working on my AARE designation. That stands for Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate. The instructor for that course was awesome. What I find amusing is the fact that Manson Silk doesn't know how good he is. During the check-in time, he had a PowerPoint presentation running of sayings he had coined. There were about twenty. One stood out from all the others, "When is the last time you did something for the first time?"
That practically sums up how I do things. It just never occurred to me. When things are going along with no change, I usually pull a pin out of a hand grenade and pitch it out there into the future. Those of you that are my old friends know I changed companies last summer. With the change came the need to write text books. OK, I mastered that skill. Life is never boring if you leave yourself open to opportunities. I am at the point when I am studying the possibility of retiring and at the same time deciding to go for it in my career. Life is good. I have, however, learned to appreciate that which is important. I am definitely going to take a couple of weeks off this summer and open Camp Grandma in my backyard.
